Nancy Bourn is the owner and founder of Trend Setters. With a business degree and a certificate in Hospitality and Tourism, Nancy has found her true love as the owner and chief hair designer at Trend Setters. For more than 22 years Nancy has been committed to excellence in the clients she serves. She lends her creativity, knowledge and expertise to each client. Nancy specializes in razor cutting the latest styles. She is a color specialist and the team leader for all color work in the shop. Many people seek her out for corrective color.
Nancy is very active in the Kernersville community. She is passionate about serving and utilizing her leadership and insight to make a positive impact on the local community. She is involved in the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce, Kernersville Business Association, Kiwanis, and Next Step Ministries. For more than 8 years, Nancy and the Trend Setters team have provided haircuts and styling services to the Battered Women’s Shelter.
Emily Cooke is one of the hair stylists at Trend Setters. She started Cosmetology as a junior in high school. She loves to do cuts, color highlights and Keratin Smoothing Style. She spends a lot of personal time attending cut and color classes and hair shows. In her free time, Emily loves spending quality time with her husband and daughter, being outside, kickboxing, and taking trips to the beach.
Charlene Nelson is living her childhood dream to be a hair stylist. In visits with her grandmother to the hair salon, she experienced the fun atmosphere, exciting talk, and beautiful styles that are the foundation for her work at Trend Setters. As a hair stylist for 20 years, she loves every aspect of hair work. She specializes in razor cutting, cutting, and color highlights. She loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys music, talking and cutting-up. Often, you will hear her say “life is too serious without having fun!”
Samantha Walker - After years of training and practicing with hair, Samantha joins Trend Setters. She has worked in a few salons and does all types of hair, including hair cuts, color and updos. She grew up in Maryland and now finds herslf in our community. Samantha looks forward to taking care of the people in Kernersville.
Robyn Jackson - Robyn has been doing hair in Kernersville for ten years after moving here from her home state of Vermont. Between doing hair there and here, she has over 20 years in the business. Thru those yrs. she has kept up with continuing education. Some of her training comes from working back stage at Redken's International Show in NYC. She has worked with some of the best colorist in our perfusion. Her goal for her clients is to keep their hair healthy and create a style and color that fits their life - style personality.
Doris Fitzpatrick - Doris moved here from California back in 2005 and has been doing hair in Kernersville since. Her training with Toni and Gerry has helped her attain her edginess in hair styling and techniques. She loves to teach her clients more information on styling and hair care. She specializes in color / cut / Kertin complex treatment, hot heads extensions, ethnic hair, razor cutting, color training Goldwell & Scruples.
Jessica Pardue - Jessica has recently relocated to Kernersville from Greensboro and is looking forward to meeting new people in this area! Jessica has been a stylist for 15 years and specialized in cuts and color. She trained at Leon's Beauty School in 1998 where she went on to work for them for several years, moving to Hair Profiles in Greensboro and now at Trend Setters! Jessica is a family person with two children and happily married for 8 years ... So to new beginnings!
Tanya Likens - has done nails for 26 years. She has been licensed in Ill. Ohio, Va. and now in N. C. which she enjoys living here the most. She only does natural nails and natural pedicures. Pedicures are her specialty. Tanya is very familiar with diabetic feet also she recognize toe nail fugues. She is a wife of 26 yrs. with 7 children ages 40 - 17 yrs. She is a proud grandmother (Nana)
Amanda Shelton - has been a hairdresser with Trend Setters since 2006! Her great aunt Ellen worked here until she was in her 80's and Amanda is so proud to be part of a team that works hard, cares for the community, and never stops learning the trade. She loves being with family and friends in spare time and is always excited to get to work so she can help others feel their best! Amanda's favorite haircuts are short razor cuts! She loves to color hair and nevermind when people bring a picture of the look they are shooting for! Hair is our thing!
